Born and bred in Whitby, I spent the endless summers poking around on the beach in Sandsend whilst my brothers were sailing.
After finishing my A Levels at Scarborough Sixth Form College, went to study Visual Communications at Harrogate College of Arts and Technology. All the while doing as much walking and camping as I could.
After working with Raleigh International in Zimbabwe and travelling through East Africa, the pull of Whitby Abbey took hold and I found myself back in the town I grew up in. I fell in love, had babies and settled into family life.
I have been teaching Pilates for the past 14 years, in-between sewing for family and friends, designing and painting sets for the local amateur theatre company, helping in my husband’s family bakery and looking after my mum who has Parkinson’s. Oh, and being inspired by the wonderful families at Rett UK to found Queenie, Godfrey and Company!
